Our first full week in Year 4 is complete!

This week we have established our school routine and made great progress in our learning.

In maths we have explored rounding to 10 and 100 and place value of numbers up to 1000. Everyone has thrown themselves into this really well.

In English we have completed our very first piece of studying work! Inspired by the wands we created last week, we have written a descriptive paragraph. Throughout the week we developed a bank of adjectives which were the focus for this piece of work. Everyone was made a great start to their study work books and I hope this continues throughout the year.

This week we also took our Geography lesson outside. We drew grids on the floor with chalk and learnt about the coordinates of a grid. I can tell we are going to have some great explorers in Year 4! To end the week we have had our first look at Georges Seurat's technique of Pointillism. We recreated this style of painting through the completion of a colour wheel.

Thank you for a lovely second week in Year 4! I look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
