Year 4 News
It's been our first week back after the Half Term holidays and we have already learnt lots of new skills.
In Numeracy, we have been learning how to apply our knowledge of Timestable and our knowledge of dividing and multiplying by 10 to solve division questions. Everybody has worked extremely hard in Numeracy this week and I am very proud of them! Well done everybody, you should be very pleased with yourselves! Everybody can now answer questions like 320 divided by 8 mentally!
In Literacy, we have been creating our own Mythical Beasts and writing non-chronological reports for them. Along the way, we have revised paragraphing and learnt how to write an opening sentence for a paragraph.
During the afternoons, we have been studying the work of George Seurat. We learnt about Pointillism and had a go at using this style of painting to create a colour wheel; creating the colour wheel taught us about colour mixing. We now know how to make secondary and tertiary colours. This week, we have also been starting to create the circuits for our wands!
