It has been a fabulous first week back in year 4; it has been lovely to have you back at school and to hear about your holiday adventures!

This week we have moved onto a new unit of work in English and it's something that we haven't really done before... we have been looking at writing a comparison, where we compare two of the characters from the story; Harry and Ron. This is the first time we have compared outside of a grid format and I must say the children have been working really hard on this- well done!

In maths this week, we have focused on place value. Throughout our maths lessons we have worked on: rounding numbers, negative numbers, the value of digits and roman numerals. We even created a performance to remember how to round correctly which were fantastic!

In the afternoons, we have started our computing unit on algorithms and looking more closely at variables within codes. In RE we have completed our prayer flags which are beautiful and we have begun to look at artwork within religion. Also in the afternoons, we have been working really hard on completed some study work pages, they are looking fabulous. I wonder which study work page is the class's favourite so far?

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Miss Rushton
