So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Year 4 News
Welcome back to our last half term together! I hope you have all had a lovely half term holiday.
This week we have been looking at fronted adverbials. We applied this skill when writing an opening to a story about the Great Fire of Nantwich.
In Numeracy, we have been learning about the area and perimeter of a rectangles (and the perimeter of other shapes); we came up with a formula which means we can work out the area and perimeter of any rectangle:
Area = Length of the long side x Length of the short side
P = (Length of the long side + Length of the short side) x 2
We then applied our skills during a maths investigation.
In the afternoons, we have been learning about the Reformation. We have also been putting our computational skills to good use to create an adventure story using PowerPoint; we have added animation to pictures and next week we will be learning how to turn a picture into a button.
As an added bonus this week, we have been sampling Tudor food (a homework project). When trying the food, we have been introduced to lots of different flavours! Thank you to everyone who worked hard to complete their homework! It has been very fun and interesting hearing about everything you have done.
