Year 4 News!

Home » News » Year 4 News!

It's been another great week in Year 4!

In English this week we have focused on improving our 'missing person posters', finding clues within the story to describe Lachland (Lila's father) as well as beginning to personify our classroom objects.

In Maths we have continued with fractions. We have now moved on to calculating fractions of numbers. We are all working really hard and persevering with a very tricky unit of work!

We have completed a couple of study work pages this week and children are really taking a lot of pride in the lovely work they are producing. Yesterday afternoon, we also continued with our Chinese afternoon we had started before half term in which we have created Chinese New Year cards and our own Chinese Zodiac.

On Thursday, we also had a book inspired morning. It began with attempting to guess the different books based on the clues which were written on the brown paper. Some of us were great at finding out the answer! I really hope this activity has encouraged us to look past a cover and inspired us to read something new. We then followed this with our book swap. It was lovely to see everyone get so excited by a new book! To end our morning of books we played a game which involved the children having to guess the book character they had been given. It was very funny!

Finally, on Friday we have finished by exploring a computing programme called code studio. The children seemed to love it!

Have a lovely weekend!
