Year 4 News

This week Year 4 have become newspaper experts.
We are still looking into all the aspects which will help us to produce a fantastic newspaper. This weeks main focus has been the use of direct and indirect speech. We have explored how to change speech from direct to indirect (and vice-versa) and how to punctuate speech correctly. The little pig's and the wolf's text messages helped us to punctuate direct speech perfectly. Today, we ended the week by planning the initial ideas we have for our newspaper.

In Maths this week we have learnt how to calculate the area of rectilinear shapes, triangles and compound shapes. We even calculated the area of everything inside Steve's room.

Within History we have taken a step back in time to explore what it was like to live during the Shang Dynasty. We learnt about the social classes within this period and what the lives of different people was like.

Within Geography we have created a study work page which everyone has worked really hard to produce. We have still got a little way to go to complete our second page but I can already tell they are going to look great!

Year 4's trumpets lessons sound as they are going well. It is great to see everyone having a go and enjoying playing an instrument.

Have a lovely weekend.
