Year 4 News
What a week in Year 4!
This week most definitely started off on a high note. Young Voices was a fantastic experience which we were all very lucky to be a part of. Everyone really sang their hearts out and danced all night! The coach was certainly quieter on the journey home.
In Maths this week, we have finished our Multiplication and Division unit of work with some very tricky written methods. However, everyone was very resilient when faced with a challenge. Throughout English this week we have created our own TV adverts and started our unit of work on Newspapers. We began exploring the difference between facts and opinion. Then, we moved on to the importance of our opening statements and ensuring we included the 5w's.
In RE we are now exploring how God is a portrayed as a King within Bible stories. We all enjoyed pretending to be Kings and Queens ourselves.
Within Geography this week we have explored the location of dangerous volcanoes around the world and we have began to debate whether we would live near a volcano. Finally, in Science this week we have started our 'sound' unit of work. Today we explored the different sounds we can make within our classroom, predicted the different sounds we would hear around the school and conducted our experiment using our own sound scale.
Have a great weekend. See you on Monday!
