Another week has flown by!

In our Maths lessons this week, we have moved on to Geometry. At the beginning of the week, we learnt how to identify acute, obtuse and right angles. We have learnt a catchy song to help us remember the words and what they mean. We then moved on to ordering and comparing angles. We have now started to learnt about how to identifying shapes. We have learnt about the properties of isosceles, equilateral and scalene triangles and have now moved on to learn about quadrilaterals. We have taken on board a lot of new learning in Maths this week.

In our English lessons this week, we have attempted to predict what the mystery letter in our crime scene may have had written on it. We were given the opportunity to think creatively about who the letter may be from and what it may be about and we shared all of their ideas collaboratively before writing our letter.

In our Computing lessons this week, we have finished our Shakespeare PowerPoints. After adding all the text, we have learnt how to add and import pictures onto our PowerPoint, how to add animations to pictures and text and how to add transitions to our slides. In our Science lessons, we have moved on to learn about the digestive system. We started our lesson by labelling parts of the digestive system which we already knew. After some discussion, we then explored every aspect of the digestive system and were then able to label these on an image of the body. As well as learning the name of each part digestive system, we discussed what their function may be. We have also been working on our Studywork this week and making sure it is beautifully presented and something we can all be proud of.

On Thursday afternoon, Year 4 had great fun on their transition afternoon. You got to spend the afternoon with Miss Pennance! You created some lovely art work ready for a display in your new classroom. It was lovely to see how excited you were to share the things you had been up to in Year 5. On Friday afternoon, KS2 all participated in a Sports Day practise.

Thank you for a lovely week!
Miss Welch
