Once again we have completed another week in Year 4!

In Literacy, we have started writing ghost stories. Through our story writing, we have learnt that our words can paint a picture in the readers' mind. As a result, we have worked hard to pick the right words that make the right picture. We have also been exploring characters and how to write a story opening.

In Numeracy, we have been looking at subtraction. We have recapped the Expanded Method and learnt a new method called the Compact method. You will need to use this new skill to help you complete your new MyMaths Homework. Remember, do it on paper first if you need to!

In the afternoons, we have found out about the wives of Henry VIII and started painting our Holbein pictures; we have had to concentrate hard and use our colour mixing skills to create the right colour... it was a little tricky at times! We also finished of our 'egg'periment. The results were rather shocking and made us all realise how important it is to brush our teeth!
