Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a lovely half term break.

We got straight back into learning this week and have been extremely busy. In English, we have learnt about the key features of persuasive writing. We then used these skills to try and persuade people that Mars Bars are the best chocolate bar out there. Of course, we had to do a little taste test to make sure we had the right words to describe it.

In Maths, we have been learning how to do a written method called the 'Grid Method'; this method is used in multiplication. We had to draw on our previous skills such as our knowledge of place value, times tables and addition to help us with this. It was rather complicated and a bit of a challenge but we weren't put off and our determination paid off because we can all now use the grid method . . . yippee!

During our afternoons, we have been learning about how the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings changed the face of Britain when they created their seven kingdom. We learnt where these seven kingdom would have been in Britain and how the names of these kingdom can still be seen in the names of today's modern counties. Do you remember which kingdom Cheshire would have been in? We have also been doing Study Work this week and created another lovely page.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy the bonfires and fireworks if you're heading out. If you are going out for Bonfire Night, remember all the things PC Nick taught you on Monday as this will make sure you are always safe.

See you on Monday,

Miss Pennance
