This week has been one of the best we have had so far this year! You have worked so hard and achieved so much; I am really am very proud of you.

In English this week, we continued to look at persuasive writing. We started the week by having a debate — we had to decide whether Hiccup (the main character in our story) should or should not be exiled from the Hairy Hooligan Tribe. After listening to everyone's point of view during the debate, we had a class vote and collectively decided that Hiccup should be allowed to stay! We then used all of our knowledge to write to Stoik the Vast, persuading him to let Hiccup stay on the Isle of Berk. Everybody worked so hard and the pieces of work that were produced are incredible.

In our Maths lessons this week, we continued to look at the grid method. We then went on to use our times tables to learn a new skill — short division. It was a little tricky to get our heads round it at first but we got there and can now all use this method. Well done.

During our afternoon sessions we have been doing a variety of things. On Monday we did D.T and Music. In D.T we created pneumatic systems using plastic tubes and syringes; it was very clever. Then, in Music, you learnt how to play the recorder with Mrs Brown. On Tuesday you had P.E and then on Wednesday we looked at the two different Nativity stories in the bible. Thursday was our study work afternoon and today we have been busy making Viking broaches out of clay.

I would also like to say a thank you to all those people who dressed up for Remembrance Day. And I would like to say a a very big thank you to Laura who brought in her Granddad's gas mask for us to see — thank you Laura!

You have all worked very hard this week so rest up and enjoy your weekend.

See you on Monday,

Miss Pennance
