Year 3 News
We have come to the end of another week; this half term is flying by!
In Maths, we recapped place value and then moved onto look at a new method...expanded column addition. This was a little tricky to get to grips with at first but we were extremely resilient and because of this, we managed it! Well done every one.
In English, we helped out Hiccup and wrote a set of instructions which explained 'How To Train Your Dragon'. They were much better than Professor Yobbish's instructions who simply advised Hiccup to yell at the dragon. Ours included lots of detail and everyone used the key features.
In our afternoons, we all went down to the church to celebrate harvest. It was your first time walking and taking part in our harvest service at church and I just want to say that you were fantastic. Those of you who spoke, spoke beautifully and everyone's singing was a delight to listen to. You should be very proud of yourselves. On Thursday afternoon, we all became scientists and learnt about the different parts of a flowering plant. It was very exciting and we learnt lots of new vocabulary.
We have had a wonderful week and I just want to say a big thank you for how lovely you have been — you are super stars Year 3!
