We have come to the end of another lovely week in Year 3.

In English, we have been learning about speech marks (inverted commas) and how they are used in writing to show that someone is speaking. We even took it a step further and made our conversations more exciting by coming up with different words for 'said'. The selection you came up with was pretty impressive! Well done everyone.

In Maths, we were learning about inverse operations and even had a go at reading people's minds. See if you can read mine . . .
I'm thinking of a number. I add 5. Then I subtract 10. The answer is 20. What number am I thinking of?
Don't worry mums and dads if you can't do it, the children will be teaching you how to read someone's mind at our 'Teach a Parent' session on Monday (14:30 start).

On Monday afternoon, we did some drama during our R.E lesson; we became the shepherds from the nativity story and considered what it would have been like for them to receive the message from the angels. We then thought about why God decided the angels should go to shepherds rather than really important people like kings and queens. This was followed by an excellent music lesson with Mrs Brown where you learnt to play 'Hot Cross Buns' on the recorder. It sounded really good! On Tuesday, you had P.E with Sportscape. On Wednesday, we painted our Viking broaches that we made last week. On Thursday we learnt about the life cycle of a flowering plant and how important pollination is. Finally, today, we had a lovely Study Work afternoon.

Thank you all for another lovely week.

Enjoy your weekend and see you all on Monday,

Miss Pennance
