Year 3 have been learning lots of new skills this week. Our brains have certainly been busy and we have all worked very hard to be clever cookies! Great work team!

In our maths, our brains have been busy learning about addition. We have been learning mental methods for addition and have also been introduced to the column method. These methods are a little challenging and we have found it tough at times but I am proud to say that your hard work has paid off.

In English, we have been learning about letter writing. We had to know how to write an address and, more importantly, we have been learning about paragraphing.

Our afternoon lessons have been filled with interesting activities. First of all, we had a puzzle to solve. We had to make two syringes move but were only allowed to touch one! Can you work out how we did it? Well, we created a pneumatic system and realised that air can be very powerful; we plan to use a pneumatic system when creating our moving dragons. In our R.E lesson, we have been learning about the story of when Jesus calmed the storm. It raised lots of questions and we tried to think carefully about the message behind the story too.

Hope you have a lovely weekend,

Miss P
