It's half term! How did that happen? We have been so busy and learnt so much that the time has just flown.

This week we have learnt about lettering writing. We focused on the importance of planning a letter and learning how the different branches of our mind map can be turned into paragraphs.

In Maths, we have been learning about expanded column subtraction. We learnt about the importance of borrowing. We then moved on to investigating times tables. We noticed that the 2, 4 and 8 times tables are linked and we learnt a clever little trick to help us with our 9 times table.

In our afternoon lessons, we have been busy with Study Work. The children have all created another beautiful page which they should be very proud of. We also used symmetry to design a broach in the Viking style; we will be making our broaches out of clay after the half term holidays.

It has been a lovely half term and I hope that you have enjoyed it as much as I have. Make sure you get a good rest over half term because we'll be learning lots more when you come back.

See you in a just over a week,

Miss Pennance
