I can't believe it is the weekend again!
This week we have looked at information texts and made notes about the important words in the texts. Today we used the information to write a diary account, 'A day in the life of a Roman Solider'.
In Numeracy we have been looking at addition and subtraction and talked a lot about the different strategies that we might use to help us solve sums involving larger numbers. We used the number facts we know about numbers to 10 and place value where we thought about the value of each digit. Some of our sums involved crossing a 10s number, and we talked about how we could predict this using the number facts we know. There will be My Maths homework related to this.
We remembered what we know about what plants need to grow and we thought about how we could test this. Next week we will be planting some beans just like the Celts and testing them to see if we can find out if they really need air, light, water, heat and soil to grow.
In KiVa we looked at our feelings when we are sad, happy, angry and worried and we talked about what we can do when we feel these emotions.
We have been learning to play the glockenspiel in music and we looked at how you read music.
On Thursday afternoon we spent some time thinking about and experiencing the Christian values of self control, gentleness, kindness and forgiveness with Mrs Taylor and Mrs Rogers.
Enjoy the weekend, see you on Monday.
