Year 2 News
I can't believe it is already half term! And what a great one it has been! The children have worked so hard in all aspects of their learning.
This week, we have been writing letters. We have been thinking about how we can recognise letters and what we need to remember when writing them. We have written letters to Mr Hogget, the farmer in our class story to tell him that we think Babe will make a great sheep pig! They were great letters and we are excited to show you them as part of our study work books this term.
We also recived a letter from Sylvia, our cleaner, who asked us if we would like to look after her pet degus for the week. We were very keen and said yes straight away! We have enjoyed giving them a sand bath every day and watching them having fun in our classroom. We have written letters to Sylvia, suggesting names and telling her what they have been up to! Children, what names did you choose for the degus?
In maths, we have been collecting data, using tally charts, pictograms and block graphs. We thought of questions we wanted to find out about the class and thought about what the graph told us. Well done Year 2!
Thank you for a lovely first half term and enjoy your well earned break. I look forward to hearing all about your half term adventures.
