Year 2 News
It has been lovely to see the sun out this week!
In English, we have been working very hard. We completed a big story writing session. We used our imaginations to produce some fantastic writing! Mrs Charlesworth's group have then continued with their newspaper reports while Mrs Jenkins' group have been busy writing letters asking James to bring his giant peach to Wybunbury Delves!
In Maths, Mrs Charlesworth's group have been working on scales, fractions and money whilst Mrs Jenkins' group have been working through partitioning in column addition.
In the afternoons we have started our Geography by learning the names of the seven continents and five oceans. We have learnt songs about them and have been busy finding facts by looking at world atlases. We have also enjoyed R.E. with Mrs Taylor. We have learnt about Shabat and even broke bread and drank wine! (Well....Schloer!) In Science, with Mrs Bradbury-Smith, we learnt about the textures of different materials. We have also enjoyed cricket in P.E. and learned about the Queen on her 90th birthday.
It was lovely to see the different costumes and colours for St. George's Day. You all looked fantastic!
We have completed our giant peach and it is now flying across the classroom, although the seagulls have unfortunately managed to get a bit tangled up! Silly seagulls!
Have a lovely weekend. Hopefully the sun will continue to shine! See you next week.
