Year 2 News
We've had a very busy, problem solving week.
We arrived at school on Monday morning to find muddy footprints on our tables and leaves all over the floor! Mrs Hughes was not pleased! We began looking for clues, dusting for prints and asking the questions; who? what? when? where? why? and how? We created a word wall of adjectives, nouns and verbs and used thesauruses to help us find even better 'wow' words!
In maths we have been solving problems including pattern, shape, money. We particularly enjoyed the stick problems and finding out how many different ways the snowmen could wear their buttons!
In science we have sorted objects into criteria; living, dead and never lived. We decided which characteristics the objects needed to fit into the correct category.
We have been perfecting our performing skills ready to show off in our nativity next week. Dates and times can be found on the school website calendar. We have also been busy working on our study books.
Have a lovely weekend. See you on Monday.
