So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Year 2 News
Year 2 have had a busy week in English, writing their own stories about Wybunbury Moss and Nellie Longarms. We began by creating a story map from natural items collected during a walk around the school field. We identified the main areas we visited on our trip to Wybunbury Moss, to help with continuity throughout our stories.
We also created a lovely class poem about poppies, as part of our Remembrance Day work, as well as beginning to mould poppies from clay. We will share this work with the rest of the school on Wednesday 11th November.
In Maths, we have been describing and making irregular polygons, using regular shapes and geoboards. We have been using mathematical language and learning the roots of some shape words e.g. oct, hex and pent to help us identify the shape groups our irregular shapes belong to.
In study work, we have been consolidating our geography knowledge about the United Kingdom and finishing off our art work based on the creations of Andy Goldsworthy.
Have a lovely weekend.
