Year 2 Go to Hollywood

Home » News » Year 2 Go to Hollywood

Over the last two weeks we have been a hive of activity.
Last week we re-wrote the Edward Lear poem 'The Owl and the Pussycat' and began to make up a drama of the Great Fire of Nantwich. We worked in groups and each group took a scene from the story. We have filmed the drama on the Ipad and today we watched ourselves. We were brilliant. Look out for The Great Fire of Nantwich blockbuster in our study work books later in the year.
In Numeracy we have been using our number bonds to 10 to help us add two numbers that bridge 10. We have practised this in games that involve counting on as well as in our books. We have also been investigators. The children brought home their investigations from Thursday and today we were trying to see how many triangles we can make using seven sticks. We also tried to see if we could make a cube using eight blocks, two each of four colours, so that there were four colours on each face. This was tricky but we were determined to do it. Well done to everyone for persevering.
We are well into our practices for the Christmas Service and have songs and lines to learn at home.
Enjoy the weekend, see you Monday.
