Year 2 Assessment Update

Home » News » Year 2 Assessment Update

In the summer term 2016, children at the end of Key Stage 1(Year 2) will be formally assessed. This will take two forms — teacher assessment and new style SATs papers. Teacher assessment is based on their on going work in class. SATs have been overhauled in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to reflect the changes to the national curriculum, which was introduced from September 2014.
At the end of Year 2, children will take SATs in:

  • Reading
  • English grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Maths
More information can be found in this information pack. Or on this short YouTube video.
The English Assessment Information Evening on Monday 14th March 6pm in our school hall will also explain the criteria in more detail.
