So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Year 2 and The Sheep Pig day!
What fun we have had today in the Year 2 classroom! The children all looked fantastic as they came to school as different characters from The Sheep Pig, this term's theme book. Coming through the Year 2 door today were sheep, pigs, a rat, a horse, a bull, dogs and a farmhouse cat to name but a few! Luckily some farmers turned up to keep the animals (and the teachers who were sheep for the day!) in check! We even had some sheep rustlers in the classroom today but luckily they were on their best behaviour and no sheep were taken! Thank you for all of your theme snacks you brought in. As always, you have outdone yourselves! We had too much to enjoy today and we think that we will be eating all week! This morning, we spent the morning playing farm games, like Feed the Pig and Cow using bean bags, against the clock! We were then hard working farmers cleaning the muddy animals and we also had an 'udder challenge', using rubber gloves and water! In the afternoon, we had a special visitor in James Hunt from Year 5, who told us all about what it is like to live (and work) on a farm. Thank you James for being our expert. We enjoyed asking you questions and you were very knowledgeable and clear in your answers. Then we were visited by a real life farmer, Mr Hunt, who told us all about his farm and even brought his tractor to school and we all had a sit in it. How exciting! We learnt lots too. Thank you to the Hunt family for making our afternoon so special.
Children, I hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did! See you tomorrow!
