So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Year 1 Zoology Theme Day
What a wonderful day we had celebrating our learning linked to Zoology. Firstly all the costumes were amazing, and I could tell what thought and hard work had gone into organising and making each one.
We began the day by reading the Tiger who came to tea story as a class and then we thought about how we could design our own tea plate linked to our Animal topic. We had a great time problem solving — 'How many animals went into Noah's Ark if there were only 12 legs?', and then we went outside in the glorious weather to take lots of photos.
If you are wondering why we are all covering our eyes, we have heard that Jamie Oliver has a campaign to reduce the number of junk food adverts directed at children, and as a class we wanted to show our support and take part too. Covering your eyes is the theme to the #AdEnough campaign, and we hope with lots of support Jamie Oliver can make a difference.
In the afternoon, we put all our energies into preparing our tea party, and what a great party it was! We made our own sandwiches, shared animal themed snacks and drank from tea cups. We had two guests of honour who happened to be Tigers, and they had a great time too.
I hope you enjoy looking at all the photos, it was hard not to upload more!
Thank you Year 1 for a brilliant day.
