WOW, what an amazing four weeks! As always, this week, we have had lots of fun whilst learning. Our focus in English has been re reading our work and correcting any spelling mistakes by using our phonics! Year 1 have been correction spellings mistakes by applying their knowledge to their work and should be very proud of themselves. Bring on the phonics screening! I am super proud of all the children in year 1, they have worked so hard this term, worked as a team and supported one another.

In Maths, we have started a new unit, GEOMETRY! We now know the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. We will continue learning all about shapes, making patterns with shapes, matching the name and the shape and recognising them all around the school! The children are looking forward to lots of outdoor learning!

In Science, this week, we have completed our learning from last week on seasonal changes and weather pattern.

In Geography, we have continued to explore areas close by where we would find a lighthouse. Our focus has been on coastal areas nearby and around the UK. The children have made a fact file 'All About Lighthouses'.

In RE we explored the story of Pentecost to find out that the Holy Spirit is part of God. We learnt about how the disciples changed once the Holy Spirit visited and what they did next. We created artwork and celebrated by eating cake. Did you know that Pentecost is the birthday of the Christian Church?

Our 'Seaside Theme Day' will be on Monday 8th July — please dress for the BEACH!

Have a marvelous week, resting and enjoying the sunshine. See you all on Monday 27th June!

P.S Homework and new spellings have been handed out today, spellings will be tested on Friday 7th June!
