What a busy week Year 1! Our photos this week are our group work where we have created scenes from The Naughty Bus story. In groups we arranged our scenes and compared them to the real photo pages. I think you all did a fantastic job! In our writing time, we then set about exploring word choices to add WOW words to our ideas. We worked with a partner to match descriptions. We are writing WOW words in our sentences too.

We have been very busy in Numeracy learning all about adding numbers. We have used lots of different pictures and objects to add two numbers together. In class we enjoy making actions for each part of the number sentence and we are working quickly to recall our number fact knowledge too.

Our vehicles are now proudly displayed on our road shelf in our classroom. Our commitment to finishing our vehicles has been lovely to see. The axles and wheels have been attached in lots of different ways.

In RE we have learnt about the Parable of the two builders. We choose materials to make our own house and we had a great time singing a song to go with it. 'The wise man built a house upon the rock...'

Today we have explored the work of Andy Warhol in our school grounds. We began to describe his artwork using clues from Andy Warhol's own artwork; super man's eyes and his own painting of a heart. We then had a delivery of lost property from our role play bus and this gave us the idea to draw the items, just like Andy Warhol would have done.

Prayer time in Year 1 continues to be a special part of our day. We are all very keen to take part in saying prayers and there are always lots of willing volunteers to be a prayer leader. Well done Year 1.

Have a super weekend,
Mrs Pointon
