Wow what a busy but fantastic final week we have had before our Easter holidays. I am so proud of...
Year 1 news
What a busy couple of weeks we have had!
Last week, the children all took part in the school's Race for Life raising money for Cancer Research. The children ran laughing and smiling around the field for the great cause. On Wednesday, the children completed their Sport's Day with field events in the morning, including bean bag throw and standing long jump and then in the afternoon completed their track events. All of the year 1 children entered all of the races, which was great to see! The children showed great sportsmanship and support for each other, cheering each other on and saying 'well done' and 'good game' at the end of the races! It was so lovely to see your t shirts covered in stickers! You made me a very proud teacher.
Back in the classroom, the children have been learning about rhyming words and writing their own poems. We have listened to lots of poems and the children requested to take poetry books home to share.
