What an eventful week last week turned out to be!

We all had a brilliant time watching The Tiger Who Came to Tea and the children were impeccably behaved and showed what wonderful children we have at Wybunbury Delves. EVEN when we had our unexpected stop on the way back home, the children stayed in good spirits, singing songs and playing games like I spy and hand games! Earlier in the week, we had been exploring non fiction writing, leading up to writing our own animal non fiction books as part of our study work theme. We learned about nocturnal animals and hibernation and thought about animals that make good pets and why. We then watched some funny clips to inspire our writing on "if your pet could do anything, what would it do?" Click http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/shows/my-pet-and-me to watch!

In the afternoons, our science lessons took place, focusing on our senses and what we use our five senses for. Children, can you name all the senses and which body part links to each sense? We had lots of practical experiences for each sense, smelling different unknown smells and trying to guess what they were, identifying tastes and sounds without using our eyes and touch from a bag of surprise items, no peeking allowed! We even put a sock on our hands and tried to work out what the items were then. Did that make it easier or harder to guess? These items have now formed part of our interactive science display so the children in the classroom.

This week, we will be writing a recount of our visit, I wonder whether the coach adventure will be mentioned much?! We will also be History Detectives as part of our history work finding out all about the history of Chester Zoo.
