A huge thank you all once again for your support in these challenging times! Seesaw has been...
Year 1 News
Our week in Year 1 began by sharing in the excitement of performing our Nativity to our Mums and Dads. We drew pictures and thought about which part was our favourite, and this included how we had grown in confidence and independence.
In Numeracy our learning has been centred around counting and ordering numbers. Ordering numbers from smallest to greatest, drawing the value of numbers, and using the more than and less than signs have all taken place this week. We have challenged our number knowledge to look at numbers on the hundred square and we all took part in a Christmas counting game.
We have thought about instructions in Literacy, finding out about bossy words/verbs and connectives. We followed instructions on Mr Maker and then wrote our own, using our photos and all our experiences from the day before.
In RE our focus has been to learn more about the Christmas story and find out what this tells us about Jesus. We have thought about presents and why they are so precious too.
We have jumped into the Science world this week with the help of Discovery Dog to learn more about materials. We have found out the name of materials, described them in different ways and today we have written our own Material songs. 'Glass, glass, glass, are you breakable?' This was great fun!
Have a super weekend,
Mrs Pointon
