Year 1 News
The Secret of Black Rock has been a big focus for us this week in Year 1. Our story is linked to this term's topic the Wonders at Sea. It has been exciting to find out clues all about what the black rock looks like before even seeing a glimpse of the story. When we revealed the cover, we knew it was going to be a story full of adventures.
In Literacy we have been using lots of good word choices to describe the rock and we have created our own version for study work. Today we read the quote, 'It was a huge living creature, surrounded by hundreds of different types of fish.' I can't wait to read more next week and hear about your favourite sea creatures.
In Maths, we have been doubling numbers and using a numberline to help us. It has been great to play games to help us quicken our answers.
Our RE work has been centred around one of the Fruits of the Spirit, forgiveness. We have read the story of Jonah and the whale, and thought about what the world would be like without forgiveness. Our photo today is linked to this.
Have a super weekend Year 1,
Mrs Pointon
