Y6 WW1 Commemoration

Home » News » Y6 WW1 Commemoration

Thank you to all of Year 6 who have been busy delving into their family history. It was great to hear and see photographs of family, family friends and even ex-Wybunbury Delves pupils who had a part to play in the First World War. We even had a letter from the King shared this afternoon!
We also thought about the people who cam home, those who survived.
Our class work focused on the young men who were 'shot at dawn' for desertion and cowardice. It was very thought provoking to think about these young people, excited to play their part for King and country but were so overwhelmed by the horrors of the war. In worship this morning we share our memorial to the 306 and diary entries we had written.
Thank you for all your hard work and dressing up, a very poignant day.
