Another week has flown by! Our PGL display is now complete, the children have thoroughly enjoyed finding their pictures and talking about their visit. I know they are keen to show the photos, if you would like a look please call in the classroom at 3.20pm Mon, Wed or Thurs next week.
In literacy we have continued story writing based on the short film Eye of the Storm. It has raised many questions for us to think about in our versions of the story. I am looking forward to reading them all from start to finish this weekend.
In maths we have been concentrating on calculation strategies, particularly for subtraction and multiplication — there is MyMaths homework set tonight.
We have led house worship on Thursday on this week's theme of Pressing on towards the goal. We have thought about times we have persevered to achieve a goal, basing it on experiences and PGL. We learnt that Albert Einstein once said, "It's not that I am so smart; it's just that I stay with problems longer." We have also been working with our Reception buddies to prepare for their new starter service which is soon.
Our week began with Kiva. We enjoyed an afternoon of discussion and role play with Y5 on the theme of groups.
In geography we have been concentrating on the coast. We have learnt about notches, undercuts, caves, arches and stacks and how they are all related to each other.
This morning Childline have led a workshop with the children.
Enjoy your weekend Y6, it has been a busy week!
