Excitement in our class is brewing! PGL is only a week away!
We have had another successful week, beginning with a keeping healthy day with Mrs Jenkins. We combined our science, maths, literacy and PE skills to learn about nutrition and the effect of exercise on our bodies. We were frightened by the amount of sugar in the portions of drink and cereal — in our classroom there is a quiz to see if you can match the sugar to the product.
In literacy we have been exploring poetry connected to the world being a wonderful place. We have written some fantastic poems today, beginning with Imagine... and we thought about what we imagined the island of Wing to be using photographs of Scottish islands.
In numeracy we have been continuing to look at number, negative numbers, place value and rounding. We thoroughly enjoyed playing bean bag games to help with our counting.
On Tuesday we enjoyed the road safety and the opportunity to go inside the truck cab, we were surprised how little you could see out of the cab window.
We have continued with our geography work, looking at landscapes, started French with Mrs Cador and in music started a unit of work based on Bon Jovi's Livin' on a prayer. We finished our week with PE — please not PE will be Tuesday next week due to PGL.
Enjoy your weekend year 6! Good luck packing your cases!
