Y6 End of the Week

Home » News » Y6 End of the Week

Our Year 6 Fundraisers completed their first event of the year, organising games, colouring competition, cake and spotty uniforms for Children in Need. We look forward to finding out the total raised next week. Thank you Ashley and Katie.
Our School Councillors, James and Sam, have continued their weekly Thursday meetings with the class reps. Leo, joined them this week to talk about promoting our Kaiyaba partnership in his role as Church School Ambassador. This week they continued to discuss lunchtime games and snack times. James and Sam will be representing Wybunbury Delves at our cluster school council meeting next week.
Our Year 6 roles and responsibilities are a important part of our school, Year 6 take their responsibility very serious. Every week they lead our children's worship.
Maths this week has continued to focus on fractions. We have been looking at fractions of amounts, equivalent fractions and cancelling to the lowest form.
In RE we completed our unit about what Christians believe about the kingdom of God. We produced some really thoughtful reflections which summarised our learning. We completed the unit by considering the parable of the great feast, we decided that the message in this parable was God invites everyone to join his kingdom, regardless of who you are but you show your acceptance of his invitation through your actions, values and how you treat others.
We have split into groups to research ancient civilisations. What have they given to us today? If we had to start again as a civilisation what would we learn from the past? In our story Exodus, civilisation has had to think about the future. Have they got it right?
My Maths homework has been set tonight.
Hope our choir members enjoy their concert tomorrow — you sounded brilliant on Monday evening.
Have a good weekend everyone.
