A wonderful Science week in Y5.

In Maths we recapped our skills and strategies solving problems using multiplication and division. We have then gone on to complete our multiplication and division assessment.

In English we have completed all of our reading assessment papers with resilience and positivity.

We are now ready to begin our Bronze Age research. We all have our categories and trading card ideas in mind.

Our Science week has been an integral part of our week. We have taken part in many different experiments, enjoyed a workshop with Mr Tibbetts from MMU and of course had a fabulous time in the Sky Lab. We finished our week looking at how the length of a straw affects the distance a rocket balloon travels. The champion rocket racing balloon was driven by Harry and Will B.

In RE this week we have spent some time investigating the word salvation. We now know this is a Latin word and is linked closely to Christianity. By looking in different books of the Bible we have found out how this term is used.

We enjoyed reading our letters from Kaiyaba, a chosen few letters were also included in our PSHE worship this week.

Our growing up talk was a complete success, with sensible children who asked sensible questions. The paediatric nurse was tuned in to our children and delivered the content in a calm and accessible way.

Our PE lessons focused on netball and hockey skills this week.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs B.
