This week we have been editors, question creators, and scientific designers. What a week!

In English, we began the week editing our stories. We spotted our spelling errors and improved our work through word choice and by including cohesive devices to make our stories flow! From our editing we discovered that we had forgotten a few rules around how to include speech in our work. We recapped these rules and talked about the importance of having the right balance between speech and description. Well done, guys!

In Maths we finished our unit on multiplication and division. We looked at what happens when we times numbers by 10,100 and 1000. We used language like "moving the digits one place value to the left" to ensure we were confident when multiplying by 10,100,1000. Can you remember the rules? We also did this for division and are now fairly confident in answering some tricky calculations. We finished our week with our end of unit test, in which we showed off all the new knowledge we had learned over the past three weeks, well done!

In Science, we let our imaginations run wild! Our job was to create a landsailer worthy of being in our book; The Wind Singer. We brought in materials to help us build and got to work straight away. I loved watching each group designing, creating and having those lightbulb moments that really made your landsailers yours and so special. We will race them next week and think about the forces acting upon our sailers as we do this, ready for an awesome study work page!

Talking of study work — On Friday afternoon we had a bit of time to listen to our story and complete and finish off our pages so far. The children are taking such pride in their books and they are coming along brilliantly.

Have a brilliant weekend,

Mr Dale
