In Maths this week, we have continued to recap our skills on fractions. We have added and subtracted mixed fractions and begun to learn how to multiply them. We have also continued with our inter house morning challenge, currently the Red house are in the lead with one more day to go until Sports day.

This week In English, we have completed our reports on Stonehenge, we are now ready to edit for improvements.

During Book Club this week, we have read factual information and linked points to each other.

Podcasting has continued this week in small teams with Mrs Charlesworth. We are now beginning to work on our Podcasts, we all have designated jobs within our teams.

We have continued with our visits to our buddies in Preschool, this is proving to be very successful.

We have had a visit from the trading standards this week to talk to us about doorstep crime. This covered rogue traders and bogus callers, our visitor discussed what to do if the caller was someone we did not know and recapped the safety procedures we should follow.

Our visit today to Bickley Farm was a great success, we have spent the day pond dipping and using a magnifier to see our creatures up close, we then recreated newts from clay. We spent our afternoon in the meadows bug hunting and making wild flower headbands. A wonderful day had by all.

A quick housekeeping note, could I please ask you to encourage your child to bring in a summer cap, a large water bottle and sun cream (if required) on Monday as we are doing our Race for life during our PE lesson.

We have had an extremely busy week and I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Come on England!!

Mrs Burns.
