Our week in maths has been about finding quick strategies to work out multiplication and division problems mentally, using factors and multiples to speed up our calculating. We have also interpreted line graphs and bar charts, answering questions in our lesson starters.

Formal report writing has begun in English, we have used some of our news flash information along with our research facts to develop our plan. Cohesive paragraphing has been our focus along with subject specific language.

We have been amazed this week by the population of the countries bordering the Amazon Rainforest, a live population site has had us all intrigued. Researching, recording and preparing facts about these countries for our study work books has kept us very busy.

Our map work on South America has concluded in a wonderful watercolour of the country's physical features with a key to match.

We were lucky to tune into a live link with British Astronaut Tim Peake from the International Space Station this week via 'Cosmic Classroom.' Watching a water droplet suspended in space expand as a fizzy sweet was placed inside, kept our full attention.

Interfaith week has taken place across school this week. We have been involved in a P4C (philosophy for Children) session with Mrs Taylor today.
