Y5 News
News this week from Y5......
What a busy first few weeks back we have had. We begun our Literacy developing a story, based on the Wind Singer, and supported by a week of role play and setting descriptions. We dressed up as characters from our book, harvested mud nuts, had mud baths, ate roasted mud nuts and slept in a mud house. We are now in the process of writing our story and developing a plot.
In numeracy we have tackled division by chunking and subtracted numbers to 1 and 2 decimal places.
This week we have taken part in our remembrance worship, please take a look at the post from Miss Pennance as there are lots of photos and news about the new plaque positioned in the hall, we are very proud of our poppies and you can still see them at the front of school.
Bikeability has gone down a storm with your children, they were very well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed their sessions. It was lovely to see them outside and all working as a team.
We have discussed e-safety this week by looking at online safety as you make a profile. As a class we made a profile and discussed the appropriate information to share on the internet.
Our KiVa session this week was shared with Y6.
Have a well earned rest and a lovely weekend.
