Y3's Robin Hood adventure!
Today, Year 3 took part in a Robin Hood adventure day!
We've been nature detectives; using clues on and near trees to identify them. There were ten trees to find on a tree hunt and, using observational skills, some groups identified all 10 correctly! Clare, our forest school teacher, also explained what each of these trees might be used for. Can you remember which tree's leaves Robin and the Outcasts used to make the dye for their green clothing? Can you remember which trees were used to make bows?
We've used our imagination to create a balanced meal from woodland treasures, thinking about how Robin Hood might have provided a healthy diet for himself and the Outcasts.
We've also spent time den building and mastering the skills of archery. Robin Hood would be proud! And, towards the end of our day, we enjoyed time around the campfire and even got a chance to toast marshmallows. Yum!
We've enjoyed exploring the woodland, being resourceful, working as teams, using our imagination, problem-solving and using our initiative and common sense. We've followed the woodland code, making sure everyone was safe and enjoyed the day.
Leon said 'That was an awesome adventure!'. I hope you all thought so year 3.
Happy weekend, Outcasts! I think you might sleep well tonight!
