A huge thank you all once again for your support in these challenging times! Seesaw has been...
Y3's learning journey this week
This week, we have worked very hard indeed to punctuate speech in English lessons. This is a very tricky skill to master as there is lots to think about but it will help us to improve our story writing even further next term.
Next week, we will focus on performance poetry and enjoy crafting some poetry of our own too.
In maths, we've been learning how to use column addition to add 3 digit numbers. We started by working practically, using a range of resources to understand place value and to learn what happens when the additions cross the tens or hundreds boundary. Then, some children began to calculate without the help of practical resources, and some went further still, calculating mentally to solve challenge questions. Great work year 3. You've all made progress.
Next week, we will look at column subtractions. We'll use practical resources again to start us off and then try to move towards calculating without them...and even more challenge questions.
In the afternoons, we've completed more study work, enjoyed our PE lesson and managed to complete the detail in our pennants in DT. These can be seen in the photos. Y3 have done a great job.
Next week in the afternoons, we'll catch up with our KiVa lessons, begin thinking about our KS2 Christmas service, and I'm very hopeful that we will have a special visitor in class to share an amazing adventure...
It was lovely to see so many of you at parent's evening. Thank you for completing feedback forms. I'll do my best to catch up with those of you who could not attend, before the Christmas break.
Have a restful weekend, my band of merry 'men'! We have another full week of learning ahead next week. Lively brains at the ready...
