Another week has flown by in the countdown to Christmas!

In Book Club this week, we continued our reading journeys. We swapped books, answered questions and of course read aloud using our super confident reading voices! It has been great to see the children take on the new reading scheme head on! Keep it up, team!

In SPaG this week, we continued to focus upon speech. We remembered our punctuation and experimented with different synonyms for said! This helped us with our writing this week...

In English we used all of our planning from last week to write our fairytale twist stories. Descriptions, adjectives, nouns, expanded noun phrases and of course speech were used! Every single child wrote at least a page and were able to keep the same tense and tell wonderful stories all about the three little pharaohs! Well done, team!

In Maths we continued to learn out x8 tables. We used maths sentences to learn the inverse of times tables throughout the week. We used our Power Maths books to practise reasoning and problem solving questions. We also practised using TTRockstars and Hit the Button to perfect our times table skills.

We started our D&T unit this week! We learnt that the Ancient Egyptians loved to bake bread and decided to create our own versions! We started by looking at what we already knew about bread, which was...LOTS! We looked at Warburtons for inspiration and managed to create a timeline of their journey. We then looked closer at the bread packaging. We found out it is usually colourful, eye-catching and of course keeps the bread fresh. We then designed our own packaging! Take a look...

In Science we continued to investigate rocks and fossils. We recapped our learning on Mary Anning this week and created an amazing Study Work piece to demonstrate all of our learning!

In R.E we continued to look at advent and the lead up to Christmas...We thought about the different candles and how we lead up to Christmas ourselves. We drew pictures to represent hope, peace, joy and love at Christmas time.

Throughout the week we have also been doing our Daily Mile and practising our nativity, we've certainly been very busy!

Have a fantastic weekend,

Mr Dale
