This week we have shared our class worship, perfected our study work and have investigated speech marks.

In English this week we worked hard to write up our diary entries. Children copied up (after they'd edited in green pen) their writes from last week. A big focus revolved around handwriting and presentation, the children took great care in their writing! Throughout the rest of the week we had a focus on SPaG. We had a SPaG quiz where children recapped their knowledge in different question rounds! Prefixes, subordinate clauses, commas, question marks, past tense and even a few cheeky suffixes were all answered by the children during the quiz! On Friday we had a stand-alone SPaG lesson on speech marks. We thought about the rules and created our own speech all around Peter Pan and his adventures! Can you remember the rules of speech?

In Maths this week we continued our investigations into the x8 tables! We practised counting in eights and also applied our knowledge to word problems. Children have worked in small groups with Mrs Van Russelt and Mr Dale to recap concepts like the bar model, part whole method and strategies for working out problems all week too! Well done, guys!

In Book Club this week we worked hard to complete our reading assessment. The children were tasked with reading 3 different texts and answering 3 different lots of questions within the hour! It was a tough challenge but Y3 were definitely up to it! Children were able to use their knowledge and skills they use every day in Book Club and apply it to the questions! Well done, everybody!!

This week we also set a bit of time to finish off a couple of final touches to study work pages! The children are taking great pride in their work and it's lovely to hear the children talk their work!

This week we also shared our class worship! We chose 'joy' as our fruit of the spirit. It was amazing to see so many parents, friends and family come and join in with our worship. The children loved singing their x3 table song! Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT2tXa_sm3w

Nativity has started this week too! There are lots to lines to learn and it's very exciting, as we have a brand new service to share with parents this year. Next week, we will continue to work hard to make it the best service it can be.

Please remember that next Thursday is our topic day!

Have a fantastic weekend,

Mr Dale
