Y3 Update
A quick Year 3 update...
This week, we have been busy supporting each other to complete Study Work tasks. Those children who had already completed many of their learning jobs were very keen to be 'experts' and supported others well so that we were all able to 'get up to speed'. All children are now ready for the last few jobs before we make up our books and turn our thoughts to an end of year 3 reflection task.
In English, we completed our 'Teacher Pleaser' explanations and moved on to working in groups to design and explain a 'Bedroom Tidier'. Some amazing contraptions were designed and some children said this had been their favourite writing task of the year!
In maths, we challenged ourselves with open ended investigations, finding ways to complete the task as quickly as possible to win house points. We will continue with more of these challenges next week.
Next week, photographers will be in school on Monday to take more of their lovely school website photos so best bib and tucker please!
I have emailed parents today regarding times tables and spellings as we complete the final two weeks of Year 3 so please do check and read this.
Today, we listened beautifully to the worship about the sacrifices of those involved in the Battle of the Somme, and Hayden shared information in class about members of his family who were involved. Those in Brownie and Beaver uniforms added an extra special touch to the worship. Well done.
Thank you to those who have handed in Race for Life sponsor money. It seems we will have a very sizeable amount to pass on to charity.
I hope children are all busy making plans for our Powwow celebration. We will look a wonderful sight in our regalia on that day!
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
