Y2-Y6 Literacy and Numeracy Books

Home » News » Y2-Y6 Literacy and Numeracy Books

One evening this week your child (Y2-Y6) will bring home their Literacy and Numeracy Books.

We want children to understand their targets for themselves so, with parent partnership, we would like them to talk about their work and what they need to do to improve their work. It always help to talk, it helps understanding.

Your child's targets: These are found in the front of the literacy and maths exercise books and are checked off by teachers across the year.

Whole School action point: all pupils fully understand the next steps in their learning;
Teacher's feedback/marking relates to pupils' next steps and individuals know and can say what their target for learning is for maths and literacy and how they can progress with their learning.

For homework, your child is sharing their exercise book and talking about Targets for learning. THEY MUST RETURN THEIR BOOK for the next school day!

These books do not show all the work that is done in class as some is practical, talk, games and board work.

Please complete the boxes to let us know how they have done.
THANK YOU for your help.

Your child's teacher will discuss your child's targets and their 'next steps' for progress at the end of the Autumn and Spring terms. An Annual Report at the end of the Summer term will inform you of your child's progress compared to their Age-relevant expectation.
