We have had a fantastic week and really enjoyed lots of Science activities.
On Monday we worked scientifically and tried to see how we could make the 'best bridge' with 10 art straws. First of all we had to decide what best bridge meant and then we had to make it. Finally we tested them and decided that the best bridges were those that crossed the gap and held a load. Some of the failed bridges were fantastic and supported the load, but didn't cross the gap. We worked scientifically measuring, problem solving and testing amongst other things.

We made a slime clock, Mrs Dore assembled the circuit for the clock and then we added water and slime to two test tubes which made the cells for a battery. We are checking every day to see if it is still working.

We did science as part of our Roman day, we compared olive oil and soap for washing — we were testing our ideas and observing the properties of materials. Our baking was chemistry as we were mixing ingredients and seeing how they changed.

Our Science work has helped us in our writing. We have been continuing to write instructions and have written instructions about some of the experiments that we have done.

In Maths we have been adding 5 1-digit numbers. We went outside and played throwing games where we had to keep the score. We have also been practising our subtraction.

We continued our coding working and our next activity is to write our own app.

We have been practising our songs for our Lenten Service and we have all brought home our words to learn tonight.

Enjoy the weekend, see you on Monday.
