A wonderful week at preschool
Another wonderful week at preschool has been had!
Our preschool leavers have enjoyed there transition visits into preschool. They have been filled with excitement telling me about their new teachers and this has been lovely to hear. The children are definitely ready to continue their learning journey at 'big' school and I feel proud of how they have grown and developed this year!
We have been focusing on counting in sequence this week in preschool 1-10 and 1-20. The children are getting very good at this. We have been counting objects and also been counting out an amount to match a number. Some of our older children have ordered numbers 1-10 and 1-20 — wow! They then counted out objects to match each numeral — what clever clogs!
We have also been focusing on our mark making skills and how we hold a pencil. We have been drawing lots of pictures using pens, paint and chalks. Rainbows have been looking at the letter formation in their name and butterflies and teddies have been giving meaning to the marks they make.
Next week we will focus on healthy foods and the dentist is coming to visit us on Thursday.
Have a lovely weekend all,
Tara
