What's the Time Mr Wolf?

Home » News » Reception News

We have been exploring time in lots of different ways this week. From home made clocks and watches to drawing the time on the big clocks outside. What's the time Mr Wolf has helped us to develop our understanding of what o'clock looks like on a clock.

Our Story Dinosaur Rescue has been a huge hit this week. It combines dinosaurs and a selection of vehicles within a poem based story. To begin with we looked at the front cover thinking about every detail on the pictures and what might happen in the story. By the end of the week there has been all sorts of role play generated from this story.

Don't worry be happy has been our backing track for our dance activities over the last few weeks. This week we performed our dance and developed our 'freestyle' movements to the music.

We have also talked about Lent this week in worship and we have set ourselves a class Lent challenge. Instead of giving something up we are going to do a kind act and make someone else's day a little nicer.

A message has been sent to everyone tonight.....Something quite magical is happening in the classroom over the holidays....Every time you pick up a pen, pencil, crayon over the holiday, it will change into a magic wand of wizardry. As it moves it will create letters with swoops and flicks. The magic wand of wizardry will be busy writing your name with swoops and flicks. Trouble is I haven't got magical powers to see all your beautiful letters, please can you bring in how your magic wands are working. Special magical rewards for when you bring the magical work into school. Have a great time with your wands, Miss Silvester :)

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 23rd February and we wish Katie Good Luck in your new school.

Miss Silvester
