Welcome Back Year 6

Home » News » Welcome Back Year 6

Year 6 have had a busy week! We have been consolidating our knowledge of fractions, decimals, percentages, division and multiplication this week; concentrating on reasoning type questions.
We've also looked at the common language used within a reading paper and what that means we have to put into the answer.
Our RE work has continued to think about 'How Hindu's show respect to all living things.' We have found out about Samsara (the cycle of life) and that a Hindu's ultimate goal is to achieve Moksha — oneness with God. We have also looked at the similarities and differences in what Christians, Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs believe about creation and life cycles.
We have begun reading a new story for this term, Sky Hawk by Gill Lewis. So far we have found that the story is written from Callum's point of view and another key character is Iona, she begins the story fishing in the river but is disturbed by Callum and his friends. The book is beautifully written, we look forward to how it develops.
There is MyMaths homework set tonight.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
