Welcome back Y6
Welcome back Year 6. I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break.
We have hit the road running this week as our focus turns to the up and coming SATs and how best to prepare for them. In Maths we have recapped adding and subtracting negative numbers and completed all three sample Maths SAT papers. I am so proud of the resilience shown during these tests with everyone giving 100%.
In English we are preparing to write the next chapter to our Shyhawk novel. Our focus is speech and the correct way to lay it out. Poetry has been our focus in Book Club and we will continue with this area next week. We have recapped ei and ie spellings during our spelling sessions and completed the relevant spag tasks.
We have enjoyed reading letters from Kaiyaba and taking part in a computing session which allowed us to create a new osprey game. If any children would like to enjoy this programme at home (Sketch Nation Create) you will need to download it for free. We ended our week with our PE session.
Have a lovely weekend.
